Interruption to Our Regularly Scheduled Service

I know I promised to be more regular with my posts, however, this week, as I was awaiting the resumption of school after the Spring Festival holidays, I was struck down by a rather severe case of Lurgie. In addition to the ordinary cold symptoms, I have also been hit with severe vertigo. It has been getting better, and I am still wobbly on my feet, but a few days ago, I couldn’t even stand. Everything was spinning, and I couldn’t even find relief when laying down. I even vomited one night, after which things started to get slightly better, so I am wondering if any of this was due to food poisoning or something.

Anyway, this morning, I am off to the first day of classes for Spring, and I can hardly wait to see my kids again. I will try to post the next installment of my journey home later this week.

About Michael Butchin

I was born, according to the official records, in the Year of the Ram, under the Element of Fire, when Johnson ruled the land with a heavy heart; in the Cradle of Liberty, to a family of bohemians. I studied Chinese language and literature at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. I spent some years in Taiwan teaching kindergarten during the day, and ESOL during the evenings. I currently work as a high school ESOL teacher, and am an unlikely martial artist. I have spent much of my life amongst actors, singers, movie stars, beautiful cultists, Taoist immortals, renegade monks, and at least one martial arts tzaddik. I currently reside in Beijing's Dongcheng district
