Annotations Upcoming

In the upcoming weeks, I shall be annotating my novel Medousa here. A friend of mine had once encouraged me to annotate the novel itself, but I soon realized that had I done so, the book would have been at least twice as long. I must now, of course, go through the book once more and create the notes and synopses highlighting various parts of the novel– historical versus legendary versus mythic characters…bits of the history and archaeology behind the story I’ve written…meanings behind various names I’ve chosen for incidental or supporting characters…. You get the idea.

And, if anyone out there is reading my book, and has any questions, by all means, contact me here and I will answer you in a post.

The blog may be quiet for a week or two as I go back over my research notes, and prepare what I think you, dear reader, might find interesting.

About Michael Butchin

I was born, according to the official records, in the Year of the Ram, under the Element of Fire, when Johnson ruled the land with a heavy heart; in the Cradle of Liberty, to a family of bohemians. I studied Chinese language and literature at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. I spent some years in Taiwan teaching kindergarten during the day, and ESOL during the evenings. I currently work as a high school ESOL teacher, and am an unlikely martial artist. I have spent much of my life amongst actors, singers, movie stars, beautiful cultists, Taoist immortals, renegade monks, and at least one martial arts tzaddik. I currently reside in Beijing's Dongcheng district
