I know things have been quiet here, of late. I had retired my book Medousa over at CreateSpace, as I worked on a massive rewrite.
Well, now the rewrite has been completed. The story has been trimmed, scenes added, the emotional and passionate brought closer to the reader, and in many ways, the story is more brutal. We even see much more of the Gods behind the scenes of Medousa’s life. I very carefully went over the criticisms I received over the original manuscript, and kept them in mind as I worked. Now, it is being prepared for (re)publication.
Not only has the manuscript itself been changed, the copy on the back cover will now be more accurate to the themes of the book:
Helot…
Lover…
Priestess…
Monster…
Raped by Poseidon. Cursed by Athena. Her humanity stripped from her….
In this re-telling of the famous myth, we are witness to Medousa’s struggles to retain the better parts of herself while living under the curse of a jealous Goddess.
The novel traces Medousa’s life, from a brutal childhood of slavery in Sparta, to her death at the hands of the hero Perseus on a remote island at the end of the world. We come to know the woman Medousa was—her hopes and dreams, her loves and friendships—rather than the monster we think we know.
Furthermore, there will be a new cover illustration. The artwork was very graciously given to me by Petrograd artist Anastasia Suvorova. She has a page at DeviantArt–

So! The “second edition” of Medousa will be available soon, and I have already begun work on a new book.
Sorry I have been away for so long. Stay tuned for more news!
