Man Proposes, God Disposes.

Today was my first day of work and a wonderful new company. The personnel are friendly and helpful, the pay is terriffic, and the benefits are astounding. I am most looking forward to paying off the debt I’ve accumulated over the past eighteen months working at a company that did not quite offer a living wage.

However, what God gives with one hand, he takes away with the other. On Sunday, I noticed that my right front tire was low on air. I filled it, but then as I was on my way home from work today at 16:30, I noticed that the tire was low again. I stopped at  Jiffy Lube to get some air. But this time, by the time I got near home, the tire pressue warning light came on again. I knew I had a serious leak.

I managed to find my local Jiffy Lube JUST before they’d closed, and they couldn’t find the leak. I at least had a “doughnut” in the trunk, so they put that on for me. And I think I need to put some air into it now, besides.

Now, I have to survive until the weekend, or sometime sooner, when I can have my tire properly seen to. Cos now that I have a 09:00 – 17:00 schedule, I can’t get to the garage that operates on the same hours.

*sigh*

Anyway, to keep you all entertained, I will serialize the second part of MEDOUSA in hopes some of you readers out there might be convinced to buy a copy. –Keeping in mind, of course, the changes I hope to make to the book in an attempt to (once again) find a legitimate publisher.

About Michael Butchin

I was born, according to the official records, in the Year of the Ram, under the Element of Fire, when Johnson ruled the land with a heavy heart; in the Cradle of Liberty, to a family of bohemians. I studied Chinese language and literature at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. I spent some years in Taiwan teaching kindergarten during the day, and ESOL during the evenings. I currently work as a high school ESOL teacher, and am an unlikely martial artist. I have spent much of my life amongst actors, singers, movie stars, beautiful cultists, Taoist immortals, renegade monks, and at least one martial arts tzaddik. I currently reside in Beijing's Dongcheng district
